Legal working time in France is 35 hours a week (39 in less than 20 employees businesses). Besides, there is a minimum wage, the SMIC (Salaire Minimum Interprofessionnel de Croissance), which is 7.19€ gross per hour (before the deduction of approximately 20% of compulsory social contributions).
