To have a telephone line installed, contact France Telecom or a private operator (Télé 2, le 9, Cégétel...) which might have interesting rates especially for international calls.
Telephone cards for public payphone can be purchased from post offices and newsagents.
Telephone calls are 50% cheaper between 7pm and 8am every day, and all day on Saturdays, Sundays and bank holidays. International calls are 20% cheaper on these periods.
Mobile phones : operators such as Orange, SFR and Bouygues should be contacted directly for a subscription. The list of shops is displayed below. Contracts are usually for 2 years.
